Margaret “Marge” Benson, 52, worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for 33 years. She started her career as a clerk, working her way up to a position in human resources. She lived in Rockaway, N.J. She is survived by her husband, Jim, and two children, both in college.
She lost her life, along with so many others, on the morning of September 11th, 2001, at the World Trade Center.
I did not know Marge. I only learned about her after volunteering for Project 2996. From reading about her, especially in the comments others have left, I’ve learned that she was a warm, loving wife, mother, sister, great aunt, friend, and co-worker. Her husband Jim and her kids must miss her so much.
Take a moment and read through the comments, especially on her legacy.com page. Her warmth, sense of humor, and love of a good game of cards will come through. Look again at her face in the picture above and you’ll find yourself smiling as well.
God bless you, Marge. May God keep your family and friends safe.
We will never forget.
